In a weird and much appreciated twist, I’m starting to get checks BACK from my health insurance for co-pays made thanks to hitting my max out-of-pocket for the year. I’ll take it! 🎉

Starting a reread of David Allen’s Getting Things Done with the intention of tightening up my task management when I return to work. I always catch a new idea when I read it.

📷 After three months, it’s finally beer day!

First up, a 33 Summers West Coast IPA at HB Brewing Company, downtown HB.

And then a Neon Rainbows Hazy IPA — also at HB Brewing Company.

Drats… I went for a longer and brisker walk than usual today, hoping to fully close a smart watch ring. Sadly, I somehow managed to pause the workout midway through, so no ring for me. That’s okay. I’ll make it up when we walk downtown for a beer and back. I know I got the work in…

The orientation for cardiac rehab went smoothly this morning. I’m already way beyond what most patients start at. The schedule is three times a week for the next six — though the program is really 12 weeks long. I should be in much better shape than I was pre-op by the time I head back to work. 💪🏻

For fun, I decided to give GitHub CoPilot a chance to optimize some of mnml‘s CSS this morning. It caught some things that needed fixing, but the code changes I let it make for me were not valid. I had revert, review its recommendations, and then manually change on my own.

Six weeks post-op today. That means real coffee and beer are back on the list of things allowed — but in moderation. This morning’s coffee was the best I think I’ve ever had. Tomorrow morning, we plan to walk to a local coffee shop for a REAL pour over. That should be heaven.

So sad to learn today that the family ranch I spent many childhood years on was lost to the Canyon Fire in Castaic, CA last week. The houses were built nearly 100 years ago, if not more. 😔
